Is it possible to come from a non union company and go to work with a union company as a journeyman?
Thanks in advance! |

Yes it is possible. All locals should be striving to get non union employees to become union. You getting a journeyman ticket would depend on your training, years of experience and other considerations. You also might have to take a written Journeyman test through the local union. It all depends on the local that you are going to work for.

You bet it is.All you need do is sign the books for work referrals and you will be sent out on a white ticket. If you elect to take the test and pass it You become eligeble to become a member.

I worked non union for 21 years. I did go through a state approved apprentice program. I now work for a union utility. You do have to take the unions journeyman test.
