Can you fill us in on weather you guys get paid when it rains there,Ive been to Europe twice, now the first time was in northern Germany,Luxembourg, and Ireland......I got the impression that it always rains there,I learned the second time that it wasnt the case........but you guys do get your share of the wet stuff........how does that work, lets say if it rains for a couple of weeks, being non-union and all....does the company take care of you fairly?Show up pay?Half a days pay?

    Default liquid sunshine.

We work in the rain as normal.... We put our waterproofs on and continue as normal. If it rains hard all day we change into our "next set of waterproofs".

We all have at least 3 sets each. And we have a drying room on site.

We get nothing extra for working in the rain.

After all......... We aint made of sugar....
IF IT WASN'T FOR BAD LUCK WE WOULD HAVE NO LUCK AT ALL. !

A drying room is a conntainer... Specially adapted to store our PPE.
    (Personal,Protective,Equipment)

Our overalls, boots , gloves, wet weather stuff )

It has a lot of heaters and blow heaters.. Permenently on "even in Summer"

We hang our PPE in there every night to DRY !!!!

"Think of a sauna without the steam". And you get the picture.

We work in rain in trouble situations , it's a old rule that if it pours we sit a bit till it passes, it's no fun getting bit while gloving, sucks even more off the pole , bosses don't seem to get it, we get paid either way

I'd be real surprised if any Linemen, work when there's Lightning around poot.
I personally am pretty "gun shy" of lightning.

Livin in Florida, and the afternoon "storms" we have down here, are horrendous with Lightning. You do know that Central Florida is the Lightning Strike capital of the US, right?

There's many days, durin the summer, when ya think you're bein carpet bombed.
