it would be great to land a job w/ the dept. of energy but, it is not open for the regular everyday apprentice who works full time, is enrolled in a DOL certified apprenticeship and participates in stand-by. for the life of me i can't understand the hiring process of that company. i understand that education is paramount but, in this industry experience is second to none and they show no regard to it unless you are a student working towards a degree! besides time who has the extra cash to take online courses while they are an apprentice? I racked up about 15K going to lineschool to be more attractive to employers 2 years ago, evidentaly that is not good enough.
