I am retired but curious about methods in the ug work.
    1. What size of duct do u use for primary
    2. what color
    3. Do u transions from pvc to metal or do u continue up the pole into a bigger metal or pvc duct.
    4. Do u use the fiberlass pads the are deep so u can leave alittle cable in case the elbow or hipot goes bad.
    5. Do u put all three cables up a riser togather.
    Thanks and stay safe

We use 4" PVC ducts, but we don't use different colours for our ducts. We don't use any metal ducts and when it goes into a transformer or switch gear it is either a concrete vault or manhole. All of our risers we run individual ducts and the ducts are concrete encased up to 3' up the pole.

2" pvc for single phase primary, 4" pvc for 3 phase primary, 6" for 3 phase feeder primary. Gray in color. First joint of pipe up the pole is galvanized steel then pvc the rest of the way. We don't use fiberglass pads, we use pre-formed concrete pads with a preformed base that is deep enough for extra cable, on feeders we get a full wrap in the manhole. All three cables in the same conduit up the pole.
