I interviewed with ALBAT in July of last year. The interview took place at a hotel conference room on the southside of Indy. Show up early because they may be moving along quicker than expected with...
I think that electrician works around here now. There's one guy who drives around with a couple hot sticks bouncing around the back of his pickup and doesn't hesitate to open a fuse or even cut...
Thanks. Apr 9th is my next test date. The physical is pretty much a show us you can do grunt work and that your not afraid of heights. A good score in the morning gets you an interview in the...
The instructor didn't really go to deep into the exchange program other than that many hospitals and fire stations around here participate. Since they will most likely be using the electrode pads...
Passed the test and get to move on to their physical abilities test and interview which is scheduled sometime around the middle of April. Fingers still crossed.
LOL, that's hilarious.
I agree that southern Indiana is a beautiful place especially around Bloomington, Hoosier National Forrest and Brown County State park.
I think Bren's story topped just about any other story that could be posted about lost tools. :nightmare:
Up until this year whenever I took a CPR class learning how to use and AED was a separate class that was optional and not required by the people we worked for so it wasn't paid for by them. This last...
It seems like every year they hire a bunch of new apprentices for different locations throughout the state. Don't give up and keep applying every time they post new openings. I was told by another...
I applied and was called in to take the CAST test this past weekend. They said they would be testing about 150 people for the openings they had. This will be the third time I've applied with Duke...
Google image search for "muffet" brings up this --->click. For some reason I don't think Bren was talking about that though. :D
Took the test and feel pretty good about it. There's about 150 testing this round for about 13 locations. Some locations are hiring more than one but it's still a fair amount of people to compete...
Attending the Royal Tattoo is something I want to do someday. I can only imagine getting to be in the middle of it all working behind the scenes. I hear the crew uses a stage light to cook themselves...
I like bagpipe music :o:) lol "Lord Lovat's Lament" is a favorite.
And yeah, St Paddy's day in America is a bit over the top in some places. Here the Mayor of Indianapolis pours dye into the canal...
Awesome! Good luck and don't sweat the interview. Dress nice, be polite, and be confident when answering their questions.
Most everything I've asked or posted has been answered. Taking the time to read past posts of other peoples questions has been helpful as well.
Thanks. :) Checking out everything I can find on the CAST test. Not going to let a poor score screw me up at this point.
The CO-OPs around here are like thrasher already mentioned. Smaller with low turnover/hire rate. Some have the buddy system well in place that make getting a foot in the door difficult as well. Still...
Thanks a lot :)
At the hall in Indy, park out front (only 3 -4 spaces) and ring the buzzer to get in... That'll save you from looking like an idiot like me when I first stopped there. I parked around back and walked...
Got an email today scheduling time to sit the CAST test for Duke. Excited but realistic that there will be loads of other people who will also be testing as well.
Check your local hall and if you get a chance stop in to the Indiana Local 1393. ALBAT website is showing there are several locals accepting apprentice applications at the moment.
Click --> ALBAT...
Thanks :)... I forgot to draw in the wallabies though.
Tirfor = kinda like a come-a-long. If I'm following correctly you attach the tirfor to the bottom of the left hand pole and attach the cable to the left edge of the x-arm. Tighten to take off the...
Just fill out an apprentice application at the hall when they are accepting them.
