If anyone is thinking about going and has any questions about the program, I'd be happy to answer what I can.
Luck You!
I got denied again. I'm at NLC now. Hopefully when I graduate they'll give me a shot.
Yeah I got the denial yesterday. It was quick this time. PGE came through last week and told us they were only hiring 60 pre-apprentice this year in three groups so it seems there will be one more...
So I ended up with Red Wings. Couldn't find a decent boot locally (other than at the Red Wing store) and didn't have time to order anything online before school. So far so good.
16" is crazy tall. I'm good with 8
Anyone have any input on what kind of boots are best for climbing? I'm starting lineschool soon and I want to get them broken in ahead of time.
I received the denial email last night. "Due to the volume and caliber of applicants........". I start NLC 4/1 so hopefully that'll get me an interview next time.
I haven't even gotten a call for testing yet. My app still says in process.
They say get 16" boots. Does that sound right?
The school says they have an arrangement with a company to come in and sell tools at a discounted rate. Anyone know if the tools and gear are really any cheaper or should i just buy most of them...
Is that 60-80 per hiring, or total? How long was the interview? What did the competition look like?
Good Luck! Let us know how it goes.
Yeah who really knows what they are looking for. It's like trying to get into some secret society. We just have to not give up.
Well I got my denial letter for the Utility Worker job so that solves that problem. Kinda makes me wonder what they're looking for.
I want to apply for the utility worker but I'm starting lineschool in about a month. Anyone know how fast they will actually be getting around to making the hires? I don't want to quit lineschool...
What does PGE think about trying to get into two different programs at the same time? Seems like it would be kind of hard to explain.
I start NLC Orovillle April 1st. I put in for the pre-ape job Jan 10th and I haven't heard anything yet. Maybe by the time I get a shot at an interview I will have already graduated lineschool.
No worries, I'm happy to get any little scrap of info I can get.
So is it safe to say that they're only opening up the pre-apprentice lineman bucket to applicants who they want to send through to the program? The website makes it sound like anyone can take the...
OK Thanks!
I'm enrolled in the upcoming term at NLC Oroville. I just saw that PGE is putting on the bridge to pre-apprentice lineman program in San Jose in April. I know these are two completely different...
