Guess I'm too old school, give me the knock down power of the 7.62 round from an M 14 any day. Better yet, 30.06 put through the barrel of a Garand....sure the Garand is an 8 round semi, but in the words of George Patton......

Unfortunately...I have to agree with ya.
Talk to a few Marines reguraly..."In theather", so to speak...

They've told me, the first thing they do when they get "In theather", is pick up an AK...which are "plentiful"...as is the 7.62 ammunition.

They've told me..."when the ********, hear the the sound of an AK, comin BACK AT their ass, from an American Military position...It confuses the Fu$k out of em."
Aside from knowin the 7.62 WILL go thru the wall they're hidin behind....when the 5.56 won't.

If I was in the **** I would do all I could to get my hands on an AK. The gun is relatively flawless in its design. Easy to maintain, easy to fire, everything about this weapon is easy. Its simplistic design is what makes it so great. Very few parts to foul up like the AR15-M16 types of weapons.

As far as the 7.62x39's power? Well that is a very well suited round for wartime and defense. It has all the knockdown power and accuracy it needs and is readily available.

I wont take anything from Colt and the M-16 though. Great gun and it has stood the tests of time but why settle for great when you can have perfection?
