I worked for MJ on a high line job. Like any other contractor... get a good GF you get a good show up.
We had this nervous nitwit from Wisconsin running our job. He had a bone for local guys,,, wanted his own guys and cronies and the hall gave them all sorts of "portability".
I kinda got the feeling an old guy who ran the mat truck and bulldozers was the real brains in the whole deal.
Can't say how they are on distribution jobs... but on high line they really like to work their shop cats into the mix.
We got the job done despite him... but then- we always do:D
They have some real wormy safety men too. The safety guy was always riding the local hands... trying to make a spot for the cronies. The local was glad to have the work... and really let a lot go on this particular job.

Pretty much every contractor is the same, they pay you to do a job.
You either can do it or you cant. Its a different color hardhat and name on a check. But the job never changes. It kills me when people think that its a company issue. Sure their can be issues with them. But when its said and done, you bust your ass and build powerlines, " a good name might not get you very far, but a bad name will beat you to every job " That is the thinking we should all take to the show-up everyday.
