The GOVT sets the standards of HOW you live your life and what you are "allowed" to do. Because...You're too stupid to make rational decisions. "Example":
"As reported last month, Heinz is one of 16 national food manufacturers and food service vendors that has knuckled under to pressure from the New York City mayor to reduce the salt content in their products by 25 percent."
http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-26942-NY-Restaurant-Examiner~y2010m4d30-16-companies-comply-with-New-York-City-mayors-demands-to-reduce-salt
Once again you use "government policing big business" as an example of government take over and control!! You would let Big Business run ramped without any checks and balances! With out government entities such as the FDA or FAA for example HOW THE HELL WOULD US LITTLE PEOPLE KNOW IF COMPANIES ARE SELLIN TAINTED OR UNHEALTHY FOOD PRODUCTS OR FLYING US(well not me personally:o) IN TICKIN TIME BOMBS?
Why wouldn't you use examples of laws that negatively effect the tax payers like smokin bans, gun laws, passport laws, traffic laws, OR HELL EVEN TAXES to name a few!:(
SEEMS YOU ONLY DISAGREE WITH THE ACTIONS OF THE GOVERNMENT THAT EFFECT YOUR BOTTOM LINE ("CAPITALISM AT IT'S BEST!")? BIG INTO PLAYIN THE STOCK MARKET ARE YA?? BETTER HAVE SOLD YOUR TOYOTA STOCK? JUST A THOUGH!

Those dumb Democrats, what have they done? This off the top of my head.
Social Security, a Democrat program. So Socialist, but wait Swimpy like.
Veterans Admin., started mostly by Democrats. Swimpy don't have to worry about that.
GI Bill, started by Democrats. Swimpy don't have to worry bout that.
Medicare, a Democrat program. Surely Swimpy won't take advantage of that.
Medicaid, a Democrat program. Don't know if Swimpy approve.
Swimpy the great American patriot, spends 40 years working as a great esteemed lineman but only qualified for 18 years of despised Social Security. Kind of a conundrum isn't it? Like that old tea party gal who was quoted that she was against all Democrat agenda but she wanted to keep her Social Security.
Swimpy's lineman ticket has an asterisk. At the bottom next to the asterisk is say. Only can do distribution work. Ain't technical enough for transmission work. Transmission work sho be technical.
Let's float dem Wye/Wyes. If de engineer say. Do it, den we do it. I gonna hav to get humping if I speck to catch up wid ole Swimpus with this posting. I working on it dough. Heh, heh, heh.

Social Security is a socialized benefit BUT is based on how much you contribute to it. If you have never contributed to Social Security you will get a whooping 250.00 dollars a month( roughly). Now don't get me wrong I think that for the most part that is more than some should get, but on the other hand I've seen widowed women who spent there whole lives as houswives, only to lose there husbands at or around retirement age and have literaly nothing except that 250.00 a month to survive on.
Most doctors won't even take Medicaid... now there's a program to brag about.

Am I gettin this right them Swampy?
Goverment should have no participation in our lives, nor have any say in the ethical capitalistic world of today. They should be left to do what they want......no regulation, cause we know they always have the consumers best interest at heart. Deregulation of the trucking industry, airlines etc, promoted competition and broke up the ole monopolies. NOT....never did a **** thing that was good, It ran the small companies out of business, the ones left make the rules(which seem to include HIGH prices and ****ty customer service) so we want less regulation?
So in essence we dont want the government running the country, we want "BIG Business" ie the capitalists running the country cause we know they will always have the best interest of the majority of this country in mind as they buy their politicians. I think I finally get it.
Down with goverment control.........bring on the capitalist control. It is a brave new world we are living in.

Medicaid has a lot of issues that should be addressed, that is for sure but as to the statement that most docotors dont take it........most doctors take it in northeastern PA, else they would not have too many patients with the ability to make any type of payment for services rendered.
It would be medicaid or free(or no patients)..........I think they choose the medicaid.

Well I have Tri-Care, along with 2 other types of health insurance. Tri-Care is of course military. Only about half the Dr's in this area will take Tri-Care. They will give you the paper work etc. and you can file it yourself. I use it as a tertiary, and it pays.
Now Medicaid? It's a combination state and fed. I understand. As far as I know some Dr's take it. Haven't really asked anyone.
Of course for low income and needy people I don't know why they need insurance anyway. Let them eat cake or maybe banana bread. Why should we help the underpriviledged? Let um go overseas and work in Saudi or something. They could come back much more diverse.

Let me rephrase my original statement. 'Most doctors in private practice will not accept medicaid."
Hospitals don't have a choice. EL you are not the only one that lives in an impovirshed climate. I would bet that more than 50% of your private practice doctors don't accept it.

Do you ever read anyone else's post on here or do you just read the first sentence and it is all blah blah blah to you after that.
Capitalism is great.........Most people have jobs because of capitalism.
Unregulated or under-regulated capitalism is corrupt......and it has been under-regulated for far too long. Now I can go out in front of AIG and tell them you are a bunch of low life criminal scums, your practices are unethical, and if not illegal, they should be.....and you better stop it right now, before you ruin anyone else's life......but I dont think they will take me seriously. I can tell them I am going to change the laws and regulations and they better get in line or they will suffer the consequences. I will fine you, I will take your criminal elements to the "big house", but I dont think it will really have too much of an effect on them, and when they finish laughing, it will be business as usual. So who in the hell can we get to keep an eye on these "white shirt" thieves? Who has more power than they do? hmmmmm, I pick the government, preferably someone or a group of someones that know there is a fine line to walk here. A line where the capitalists can enjoy the fruits of thier(opppps I mean our)labor, but still have to operate under rules that are acceptable to and legal for society. Make all the money you want, but, you dont make the rules, because we see what happens when no one is keeping an eye on you, or just turning a blind eye to what your doing.
swampy...cutting into their bottom line is not going to cause them to do anything more than what they already do....close plants and go across the border, outsource jobs over seas...come on.....tax breaks for companies that take jobs overseas...f$#k that. Tax the *******s heavily for taking jobs away from Americans. I dont hate capitalism at all, I hate what it has become, and how it rules this country right down to people like you and me, because they buy political favors and rulings in their favor. You say unions are no longer needed, it is my humble opinion that they are needed more now than ever. The working man cant catch a break at all these days, and it is my opinion also that it is the working man that made this great country. As I said before an idea is only an idea, and money is only paper, if you cant get men and women to do the work. WE are the backbone of this country. I for one am proud to be one of those working men and women, the ones that go to work everyday and do my job(yes for a huge corporation) and make them money and make myself a good living. I deserve it because of the work I do, and I will not let some greedy MRer:D, take it away from me, because it may mean he will lose a million in his salary, not that it will affect the corporation, but it is a way to keep me under his thumb, tell me that I am replacable daily....I am a human being doing a good job, and I demand the compensation and respect I deserve. Some power and money hungry exec will not walk on me to make a name for himself with the board. Without us...there is no need for him, but without him, there still is a need for us.
So no, I am not going to the exteme, i was being sarcastic, We need both, capitalism and government control. Right now we have far too much corruption in both big business and goverment. So I think we need to find some honest politicians who can at least keep the corruption in capitalism to a minimum. To me, that is not republicans, big business is their paycheck.
There has to be a happy medium.
BTW, I like the idea of a mandate on mds to take a percentage of medicaid patients........dont fall down and have a heart attack because I am actually agreeing with you on that one swampy.

I would have figured that you have been on this site long enough to know the answer to that Electriklady. ****head is only interested in his own twisted, fascist opinion and no one else’s. He’s a ledged in his own mind who won’t serve his country, his excuse is his eye sight yet he shoots on regular occasion. He claims he was a lineman but spent most of his working life out of the USA in a tax free haven yet is able to collect Social Security (that part of socialism he can tolerate).
If you don’t know about the US tax laws that apply to US citizens working outside the country they are responsible for taxes earned but have a liberal tax exempt cushion before income taxes apply but if you file income tax each year you can pay Social Security to ensure you get it when it comes time to return after years of tax haven income earning. Oh, if you do make an income that exceeds the generous tax free allowance, you only pay the Federal portion because you aren’t living in any State. Pretty cool, eh?
So, after years of income earning with absolutely minimal taxation you can live back in the good ol’ USA with all the benefits that other get that paid the whole shot and point out that you are a conservative capitalist and they are doing and thinking it all wrong.
SEE! NOW IF THERE WAS NO SWAMPY, HOW THE HELL WOULD WE LEARN ALL THAT??:D He's the reason C.L. came to this site in the first place!!
BTW, That's f$cked up!

What has Obama in the White House got to do with Halliburton and BP running amuke and killintg people, wiping out the fishing, crabbing shrimping industries (these people are capitalist also just smaller) The tourist trade, sport fishing, sport boating, Skin Diving. Thats right swamp**** as long as big oil runs amok and is not held accountable, the little working capitalist gets sh!t on. But they don't earn millions in salaries, and bonuses. Just a living. Let's bail out all those hundreds of thousands that is losing their shirts. You blamed Obama for bailing out GM when the republicans started that bailout also, but I let it slide till now.
The sorry MutherFuk pulled all kinds of sh!t on his way out the door for OBAMA to clean up, but it's all OBAMAS fault.

White House Ready to Aid Auto Industry
By STEPHEN LABATON (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/l/stephen_labaton/index.html?inline=nyt-per) and DAVID M. HERSZENHORN (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/h/david_m_herszenhorn/index.html?inline=nyt-per)
WASHINGTON — The Bush administration said on Friday that it was prepared to intervene to prevent the collapse of General Motors (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/business/companies/general_motors_corporation/index.html?inline=nyt-org) and Chrysler (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/business/companies/chrysler_llc/index.html?inline=nyt-org) after Republican senators blocked a compromise proposal to rescue the automakers.
The decision came after a tense standoff this week in which senior White House officials pleaded with Senate Republicans not to block the measure, including a warning by Vice President **** Cheney (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/c/****_cheney/index.html?inline=nyt-per) that they would be remembered for decades as the party of Herbert Hoover if the industry collapsed.
But while Senate Republicans stood their ground — in open revolt against President Bush — it was the White House that gave in.
Shortly before the American markets opened on Friday morning, White House and Treasury Department officials, concerned that steep declines in overseas stock markets could provoke a new round of market panic in the United States, said the administration would consider providing temporary relief.
After refusing for weeks to tap the $700 billion financial rescue fund, the administration suggested it would dip into the fund to at least permit the companies to continue their operations until the new Congress and new administration arrive next month.
“Because Congress failed to act, we will stand ready to prevent an imminent failure until Congress reconvenes and acts to address the long-term viability of the industry,” said Brookly McLaughlin, a Treasury spokeswoman.
Administration officials said they had not decided how much to loan the auto companies or on what terms, and were spending Friday examining their books and cash-flow projections.
The *****holes already went to court to limit their liability to one day's profits.
You are a total hannity butt-wipe.
