It's scary to think what kind of impact this type of information may have on the ladies (and men can get breast cancer too). Hopefully they have the smarts to keep self examining.
Here in Aus it is recommended to start having mamograms every 1 - 2 years once you reach 50 unless you have family history of breast cancer.
In saying that, Breast Cancer Australia is in our faces about self examination every month, mamograms etc, we have ads on TV all the time about breast cancer detection and self examination. In the last few years we have had 3 high profile YOUNG women diagnosed with breast cancer, sadly 2 of them died as a result of the cancer. All well under 50, detected initially by self examination.
