View Full Version : Linewomen images are invisible
Why is it that linewomen are not visible to the children, public, and communities? Are linewomen a shame of what they are? Where are the linewomen? Union members and utility linemen give back to the community and children. Supporting the growth of future linemen and women. Where are the women or linewomen to demonstrate and represent women in the trade. "We are only as weak as we appear to be."

It's usually because they are in the kitchen doing their duty.

I like that:D. I've never ran into one linewoman that is,not saying there aren't any, just saying there must not be to many.

And there lies the real issue. It takes a crazy kinda woman to choose a trade like linework, so there aren't many. Besides, they look like men once they've got all the safety gear on anyway. (Which might be a deciding factor for some.)
Perhaps you were looking for some faux linewoman images of sexy young babes postulating next to poles in bikini's?
"Hey fella's! Suzie works on the power lines and loves to wrap those gorgeous legs round a big pole, but when she's not busy keepin' the power ON, she likes nothing better than to get her kit OFF and pop her jugs out to give you a big "jolt" of pleasure."
(That's the sort of thing that would appear on the infamous page 3 of a UK paper called The Sun.)

Anyone besides me on here ever work with a female apprentice - I won't mention her name - who had the license plate "legs8"? She would have been one of those women BigClive is dreaming about, until you try to have a conversation with her. She'd make a sailor blush with the stories she'd tell! Got me in trouble with the foreman one day, she and I were in a two man bucket, and she dropped a piece of hardware. She bent down to get it, and waited a little bit before standing upright again. Then she looked at the foreman, smiled, and wiped the back of her hand across her lips...

Yeah, the ladies in bluecollar trades can be rather naughty, but hilarious.
I've only ever run into 2 journeyman women in my career so far.... and both wanted to be called JOURNEYMAN not journeyperson or journeywomen or what ever.... they told me flat our that they were journeyman lineman... one was a lady I climbed with doing 19.9 in up state New York... her name was Katherine...somthing or a nother... we just called her Cat... she climbed like a gd ninja and could out work most of the guys problem was she did NOT fit clives template... she chewed tobacco and hardly ever washed so she was always there before she showed up...
the other one was on a 765 tower job she lasted a week... the she got "transferd" to a substation on the same job...there's this thing on the highline... when some one send you something up on the hand line that weighs 100lbs or so... you need to be able to do wtf you want to with it... she didn't fulfill that requirement...
I dont' have a problem with women wanting to do this work.... IF THEY CAN do this work... Its a tough job especially doing 69kv and up... the stuff gets big and heavy and IMHO... a women is in the fuggin way...
not to mention what kinda commotion they cause on a crew made up of guys that are prolly trampin and aint had a piece in 3-4 days...
but if they can hang...let them...

I worked storm once with a contractor that had a female groundman. She knew where our minds were wandering, and she made a good side job out of selling magazines and toys for guys. I'd always ask for demonstrations of the various items she was selling, she would humor me and grab a 477 auto to use for her demos!

Well it's either a young lady who aspires to be a lineman, a lady who IS a lineman, or a dirty old man who's been disappointed at the lack of pictures of "linebabes".

Well, I'm sure everyone is disappointed now! :D
Maybe Faze was just a phase. Just a phantom phase.

No, because of the way the post was worded. I guess she was just a passing phase, and was here only long enough to leave you fazed. Hey, BigClive, maybe you should publish a bikini linebabe calendar! Always make sure the linebabe goes up the pole first!!:D

JCP&L has a heck of a line lady who is also a good mom. I believe she has 5 kids and is also raising her sisters children. She never complains, she is there pulling cable better than some of the guys we have. The guys respect her because she earned it. She does exactly what the guys do. She does not expect anyone to cut her any slack. She has a great personality and yes she looks like a lady and is a class act.
