Our utility has been trying different brands of arcflash reingear hear on the west coast where it rains a lot. None of it works to good in steady rain. The water soaks through the cloth.

We used to have pretty good stuff made by bullwork but they quit making the good stuff and now make the stuff everybody else makes.

It doesn't work and it worrys me that our hands will start sneaking rubber or goartex stuff onto the job.

Do any of you have any stuff that you are happy with?

Look on tyndales Website they have the standard poly type raingear that is FR. It doesn't breath, but it does keep the water out. Another place to look is Helly Hansen. The Nova Scotia Power crews had FR Goretex outerwear. It was very expensive, but it was top shelf. I'll get the name of the brand we use tomorrow and post it.

When I was on service truck I bought some of these...

I had to buy them, was always too nervous about wearing it and ripping it crossing a fence or climbing with em... but they do work good keeping you dry.

Company I'm at now gave me something very similar, now I can rip without fear of the pocket book!! :D

I'll check what brand we have. It's good stuff, used it through the December 06 storms.

Thank you to all of you who took the time to answer this. I haven't been able to fine the informtion about the goretex raingear that is fr or arcflash safe. I hope something else will do the trick.

I'll let you know what we finally do and how it works.

Arc Flash rated, not cloth and works great. Also hi-vis so no road vest required.

Try a web site for a company called Ranpro in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. Well known around here.

We have been using the nasco ar****e rain gear, seems to be working out, ost of the fellows o.k. with it, it is a lot more flexible than our previous gear. the only thing i don't care for is having the lining on the bibs go all the way to the bottom of the pants, I like to wear gortex boots as opposed to heavy rubber boots and the lining seems to wick water up my leg getting the first six inches of my pants wet.
