One thing I can't stand is a man not having a sense of humor. Or anyone for that matter. I'm very fortunate that my man has one.

This happened to me yesterday.......

The health dept came by and gave us our yearly flu shots. This was my first time. I thought, "What the heck. The Boss has been getting them for years now and I might as well. And I'm rarely sick and I can't even remember ever getting the flu."

So, one of the male teachers, Roger, was getting his and I thought I heard him yelp. No biggie. And I figured he was just teasing anyway. Well, when it was my turn, I sat down and said, "Well, if Roger screamed out....I just don't know about this." Everyone laughed and I even said, "But, he was probably teasing while doing that anyway."

At lunch I sat at a table near the 6th grade teachers and I heard Roger say, "Yeah, about like it getting around that I squeeled while getting a shot." I grinned and said, "Did you Roger?" No grin back and he said, "No I didn't! But, it's all over the school that I did." I'm still grinning and said, "Well, that might be my fault Roger. I thought I heard you yelp but I figured you were teasing anyway."

He looks at me, he is not happy, he is NOT smiling and says, "Well, Tracy...I'd appreciate you quit spreading rumors like that about me." I'm sorry....but that only made me grin MORE! I looked up and his 12th grade daughter looked at him and at me and thought it was funny too. But, I shut up and tried not to grin. http://vbb.evyl.org/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

What was the big deal? I don't get it. http://www.avowners.com/forum/smileys/doh001.gif The Boss only grinned about it.....just another thing his wife has done or said that was funny.

Later that afternoon................

...my cohort....coworker/sidekick...tells me that she upset a male teacher. She cracks me up everyday. You have to know her, she is full of humor. Even if it is directed at me, it's hilarious. She is a card!

I asked, "Was it Roger?" She says, "No, it was Dan." I asked her what did she do. She said Dan emailed her asking for FIVE DOLLARS and she responed with, "For a footlong?"

$5 Footlong!

I laughed and said, "What was the problem? Dan didn't get it?" She said, "Not only did he not get it, he came down and told me he didn't appreciate that kind of email about his shortcomings. And that he wouldn't be emailing her anymore." OMG! http://vbb.evyl.org/images/smilies/laugh2.gif

I said, "HE DIDN'T!!!" She said yes and she went to the assistant principal about her mess up and he only said, "Good. Maybe he will stay out of the office." LOL! Dan's always bothering someone in the office.

After hearing this story, I didn't feel so bad. :D

Be careful, you might be looking at harassment charges. Teachers are the strongest union in the USA today . I bet you enjoy reaping off the benefits and not paying any union dues. You know how us union folk think of you then .

I don't think I did anything wrong. Now my coworker might be looked under a magnifying class, but I much doubt it. However, you can't be too careful these days..... anyone, especially a union, will be after any Tom Dick or Harry. Good thing I'm a part of it though.

We are small town HD. Everyone knows everyone or is kin in some way or another. Since it is the south, one could hold a grudge for many generations.

Yeeeaaaah, I pretty much see alot of how you guys think of those not in unions. I'm glad I'm apart of one that doesn't attack those that aren't. Since I'm a woman, mother, ....ya know...female, I'm more of an encourager and nurturer. I never hold a grudge and I consider myself openminded.

And I will avoid conflict if at all necessary.

Those southern jokes about you're kissing you're sister when you kiss you're wife are true then:D

Well, I don't know. Since I don't have a sister. But, if you kiss my brother(s) I almost guarentee an ass whoopin'. A pat on the back or even a handshake would be okay, but you go into their personal space, I can't guarentee you will come out in one piece. And speaking of pieces, they carry. :D
