So, no influx of females reading this board.........at this time?
Jeeze, I was hoping to talk about college football, fishing techniques, or what is making my break pads squeal---something's making that burning smell---oh well. So much for socializing with my gender.

I guess you're the lone gal LA.
Although technically speaking there are a few "complete girls" on the forum. :p

I'm just wondering which one of you boys ran off the women around here. Or did they in fact grow bored. :D

Been reading this board for years and used to be registered as foremanwife, but when the board changed I guess that was lost?
My guy is in Texas now and I am sittin' here in WV keepin' the home fires burnin' and waitin' on my guy.

Welcome WW! :D I'm not sure about your former username, but we can check into it if you like or change it back. Let me know.
I remember those days when the Boss worked storms, except I had two toddling tow heads at the time.
What sections do you like reading here on PLM.com WW?

not worried bout the old username.
All the guys call me weatherwife now cause I follow the storms. I used to track them by hand before the internet days.
We had 4 kids, been on every storm since the '70s. The Canadian Ice Storm got us our first computer and started the oldest in college.
This is our first storm in three years. The last two yrs. my guy has been superintendent for a company that did not like going on storms.
And, that was OK with us, the last time he was out on storm, two of his guys burned in a bucket truck on the way home form Florida.
He took a year off after that.
I read all the boards, get the magazine and feel like I know everyone here personally.

Superintendent is a pretty tough job. I don't know about in other companies, but when the Boss was one with a contractor I called him a glorified grunt and firefighter. Plus he supported the phone company pretty well too. :D
I come and go here some myself WW. But, recently I have been posting more than usual.
Does your husband post here some?

Hey LA,
It's Kelli, yeh I'm still around every now and again. Bill still checks out the site too, but we aren't on here as much as before seeing as we decided not to head over to Canada. We were all set to go, Bill had accepted the job, just had to organise a start date and then I found out I was pregnant with twins. That seems like ages ago and now we are very busy with our 3 year old daughter and 3 month old twin boys. We aren't going anywhere too soon. Might start looking again next year, most probably stay here in Australia though.
Take care

Hey Kelli!!!!
Wow. Congrats on the twin rugrats! :D So good to hear from you guys!!
You know, I have some wonderful pics of Australia. The land, the wildflowers, the ocean, the boats, the animals, the art..........you name it, I've seen it! A nice gentleman from over there sends me weekly installments of that wonderful land. I'd love to go there someday. They say it's beautiful. :)

A pretty neat thing happened this week. I know of some people online that live in Houston. Known'em for some 6 E-years as a matter of fact.
Anyway, they have been out of power for almost 2 weeks when he posts that he met some linemen that worked for the company that my husband use to work for. I couldn't believe it! That was so cool to me.
As usual I was a few days late reading his thread. :D This is what he posted:
I talked to a black dude and a stocky looking Larry the Cable guy type....there was also a lanky guy that was sporting a gray pony tail
So, I ask the Boss who would these guys be? He tells me that he thinks they must be the 'Bama crew. I'm sorry, but I lost it!
What would an Alabama crew be without
a. a black dude
b. Larry the Cable guy type
and
c. the lanky guy sporting a gray ponytail
Huh? What? :D

No, I didn't. However, I think that is part of why he is nicknamed Skank. :D
He is a rounder, that is for sure though.

Dag gum! That's never happened around here! Or that I know of, surely not me! But, then I'm old and a good driver. :D
The men and women in uniform are pretty darn serious in Florida. Guess they need to be though. Lots of crazies around here.

Hey Climber and welcome! Well, the female lineworkers seem to come and go a good bit around here. Either that, or they figure one day with these woodknockers are long enough. :D
I'd say a couple. How long have you been climbing?

Haha I see I see. I looked for anything I could about women lineman, but to no avail. That got me kinda worried the IBEW wouldn't take well to me haha! Turns out women are just fine in their book :)
I've been climbin for about 3 or 4 months now, I'm still in school though so I've got a long ways to go. Thanks for the welcome! :)

For Tracy......:D
Woman has Man in it;
Mrs. has Mr. in it;
Female has Male in it;
She has He in it;
Madam has Adam in it;
Okay, Okay, it all makes sense now...
I never looked at it this way before:
Ever notice how all of women's problems start with MEN?
MEN tal illness
MEN strual cramps
MEN tal breakdown
MEN opause
GUY necologist
AND ..
When we have REAL trouble, it's a
HISterectomy..
Ain't that the truth!!!! :D

Have you been over to the linework section? You need to slide on over there and read some of the linework stuff. I'm lost on most of it. I'm just a lineman's wife after all. :D
What made you go into this field of work Climber?

Mmmk will do! And ya know you're not just a lineman's wife, you're a part of all of it, which is exactly why I can to you :)
I got into linework because my grandpa was a lineman for MN power and my dad was a lineman for cable tv, just makin a family tradition out of it I guess. Plus it pretty much kicks ass :D I love it!

Haha mmmk :)
I found the site in the powerline magazine and thought I'd check it out. There's always a few mags layin around in the classroom so I look at em when I don't wanna pay attention the teacher's rambles haha. As it turns out, I am the only girl in all my classes and the whole powerline program. It doesn't bother me though, they can be nice most of the time :)
