Hi - thought you'd checked out.
Hope I did not come across as a bit mysterious it was just that while hubby was at work I was checking out this site and came across some of your threads and those unfortunate replies from someone calling themselves Trampbag. I really felt for you and your wife and felt that all the comments made not deserved. Didn't want to get dragged into the same undertones if you know what I mean - "Get a Life" comes to mind. Not wanting to give too much info on here (for obvious reasons) and also I don't want to get into the same tittle tattle that has happened to you. BCH has just offered my OH a job and are currently in the process of organising a relocation package for our family (currently in the UK). Guessing alot of folk are on their hols at the moment as they seem to take a while to respond. We hope to be landing at the very latest before xmas. Didn't know where you are located but thought it may be nice to keep in contact and possibly pick your brains from time to time (if you don't mind). As I will be new to the country it would be good to have some female chat with someone who possibly will know what me and the kids will be going through and advice is always welcome. Thanks. Don't work too hard. OH is also working long hours at the moment. Would love to hear from your wife if she fancies a chat if your too busy.
Regards Mwoody's better half

Hiya
I totally agree with you, as I have never come across a lineman with such a rude attitude towards other lineman professionals. He either needs to "Get a Life" or "Get a Job" that agrees with him. Doubt very much whether there is a lady in his life as I don't know anybody that could put up with his appalling behaviour. Most folk don't mind others posting their opinions on here but he always takes it one step further and seems to some kick out of abusing others. At least he's enjoying himself as it may be only place he gets it.
He hope to be out sometime this year and hope to be based somewhere near Chilliwack. House has just got up for sale and so fingers crossed we get a buyer soon.
I guess as wives of lineman our lives to a certain extent revolve around our men. I have had to take jobs that suit our situation although now that our boys are getting older it is in some ways starting to get easier. My hope is that they feel that they can fit in with the new lifestyle there. They both seem very positive about the move and look forward to snowboarding, rafting and fishing. I may have a go at two of those but not the white knuckle ride thanks. I hear that Vancouver Island is a lovely albeit very expensive place to live. How do you find it living so far from friends and relatives. Our nearest relatives would be in Newfoundland but they have all promised to come and visit.
Our 2 dogs will also be coming along for the ride which will be very interesting and I probably worry more about them when we get there and have to look for some good boarding kennels whilst we set ourselves up. From what I hear rentals are in short supply and most do not allow you to have dogs. We may have to buy something fairly quickly after landing - that'll be my job as is selling our current house. As long as he has a bed to crash he don't seem to mind. Lucky me. The house that we have at the moment I bought without him actually seeing it and it worked well for us.
How old are your boys and what sort of dog do you have? Do you think you'll stay on Van Island or is your OH looking for anything else that comes up for bids? Van Island won't be that far from we'll be (guessing 2 hrs tops).
If you like clearing up after your dogs I had a nice present left for me the other morning and had to scrape the remains of a hedgehog of our patio before the sun cooked it (was pretty disgusting). Reckon they prefer a bit of meat to the dry kibble we give them - call it dessert.
Keep in touch - our paths may cross in the future and get together for a coffee. Take care. Mrs Woody

Since this thread is not "linework" oriented, I'm moving it to BS.
Ladies, we will have a "Ladies Forum" coming soon. The Administrator will be putting one in shortly.

Hi Ladies,
I enjoy this forum, most of the time I have no idea what the lineys are talking about, but I enjoy it all the same . I would never get on here and post about things I have no idea about, all i know is that Bill loves his job and enjoys this forum too.
For me, this forum has been a source of information about our possible relocation to Canada. We have made contact with some very helpful people and asked many questions so that Bill and I can be better informed about the company (BC Hydro). So thanks to Trampbag, Little Beaver, MWoody, GordonBC and Tracy aka Lost Art you have all been very kind and generous with your time and your information has certainly helped Bill and I in our decisions.
Mrs Re-energised I will certainly be posting to you if Bill is offered a job with BC Hydro and Mrs MWoody thanks for your time too.

Tell these big, bad linemen to just shut up and quite whinning like babies!
I think hearing the wive's or girlfriends perspective on things would be a good thing. How does it hurt anyone? Well I gess if the wives discovered girlfriends it may get a bit more interresting.
I invite you to join us on any conversation you want to. Even in the linework section of the board. Don't be afraid that you won't understand. Someone that has more class than a few of the others on here will eventually explain it to you.
Hell, Swamprat doesn't know much about linework either and we let her join in.
Some of the guys will benefit by annonymously getting answers to questions they were afraid to ask. Including me.
I am for your participation. Come on in and sit down and have fun.

12:49 PM?
You postin from your "Cube" again 5 volt engineer?:p
Probably his home.
Most REAL Linemen are workin durin those hours.
This is true. However, I remember reading that 500 KVA had an accident and is not working at the moment.
Although I don't always agree with 500 or his methods at times, this post is a surprise to me. Which tells me that he doesn't mind if a woman is here or not. Or if she wants to post any questions or not. Or if she has her own forum or not.
I'm not stating an opinion. I'm only stating what I have read. If I am wrong, I'm sure 500 will correct me or someone else will.

Except you swampgas!
You know what time it is now? Time for you to kiss my ass!
The only people I know that keeps such close tabs on my time is the Rat *******s in Management. I don't think your management though. You aren't bright enough to even be that stupid.
You must really be smitten with me. To keep such tabs on me, either you are a stalker or in love. I always knew you were a faggot, but I must break your heart because I am not. Too bad for you. I am a great catch.
Go ahead and deny it. It is probably apparent to everyone on here. You seem to track my every move. Follow me around so closely. Hang on my every word. We all know you'll lie about it. Everything that comes from you is a lie.
You said you won't post on this womans thread, but there you are checking it all of the time. Pacing back and forth in gay anticipation. You must have been in order to see my greeting to you. You are just a habitual liar and a scum sucker.
As far as my ticket is concerned. I got mine. I have it no matter where I work. Where's yours? I can work anywhere in the world. Even for a rat piece of **** contractor if I wanted to lower my standards like say to a swamprat. Where can you work? Not too many places. You can't prove you are a journeyman without some letter from a rat outfit to satisfy another rat outfit. Seems very limited to me.
The proof is in the pudding. Trouble is most of the pudding is in your head. That's enough proof for anyone as big as that fugly head of your is. I wouldn't post that picture too many times. Not too flattering really!
Hey **** bag. Just out of curiosity. Ever hear of shift work? Probably not. You have very limited knowledge of very small things. You can't be a lineman cause you are posting at the wrong times. That's really intelligent isn't it!
You want to know what time it is now? Time for me to take a swamprat. HEEEEEE HEEEEEE. What a fag! I mean really.

I am a big fan of you ladies. I have no problem associating with you any time and any place.
I will converse with anyone. I will help anyone. Like I said. Come on in and have fun. Screw the uptight *******s on here. They can go someplace else.
I just don't care for asswipes. You'll understand who they are after a while. I am probably one as well to some people. I just try to tell it how it is. Sometimes I get harsh, but in my opinion I am responding to someone who has been harsh with me first.
Anyway I'll be glad to talk with you.
Just to let you know. Some on here aren't who they say they really are. Take that swamprat. She acts really mean but she's really not. HEEEEEE HEEEEEE.

Not "linework" related, EXCUSE me but the who the hell made you KING????????????? We have as much right as anyone to post on here. SO we are not "Lineman"but we are married to them so we know enough about it to be on here. We go through enough S**** with the Job our men do, day in and day out. YOU try staying home with the kids and animals for 4or months at a time, with one visit from your better half for 2 weeks, then they leave again for another 4 months. YOU guys would not last a week with kids 24/7! Not being able to go out because ,there is no one to watch the kids for you to have a night out with the gals. So do not go and post crap like this is not LINEWORK related. We do all this for our LINEMAN and our children... !!!!!I am not complaining about my life one bit, not many women can afford to stay home and raise there kids. But the downside is not having my husband home with me all the time. So until you have walked in the shoes of a Lineman's Woman, then you need to keep the BS to yourself!!!!!We hold the fort down so our men can do the JOb they love to do!

I have read some of the posts by lost art , and it seems to be a linemans wife, why would you say that what me and MWOODY were posting was not "linework"related and so you were posting it in the BS section? I thought you were a "Lineman"! Man why the hell can no one post on here what they want without someone comin on here ragin them like they are all that?????? I dont get it. Do I not have as much right as you to post on here? I am a linemans wife as is MWOODY in whom I was writting to in that posting... ! Anyhow I just wanted to find out why you were telling us that we should be postin in the BS section????????
Hello and welcome Re. The "linework" forum is a section for the lineman to talk about the work/trade it's self. In other words what they actually do everyday in their trade. At the time, since there was no where else to put other topics that were not "linework" related, it normally went to Political and BS forum.
I welcome you to post and ask these men anything about their trade. I've personally have asked alot of questions and some have went on deaf ears, but not all the time. And if my questioned was ignored, I asked my husband's view and then a few random posters/members here. I'm forever curious about the "work", what they do, how some do it this way while others are doing it that way. And how they word or name other techniques about the job or equipment they use. I could go on about just that topic alone.
When I ask a topic that is not linework related or if I'm posting...........say about college football (it's NOT BS---no, no. :D NOR is it political--I guess it could be at times. http://www.avowners.com/forum/smileys/doh001.gif ) I post it there. Topics that do not pertain to the trade go in the Political and BS forum. A bunch of us use that section.
I also use the PM option alot. PM's are Private Messages. If you would like to carry on a conversation with someone you can always go to your CP control and click to receive PM's.
Either way, it's mute now. We now have a section totally for you to talk about the day of a "Lineman's Wife" in this section. And anytime you want to asks these men/women of this trade a question about their lives in this trade, ask. It never hurts to ask. If you don't receive an answer, ask one in a PM, or call them out in a post (if they don't have a PM open---or not answering them---some forget to check their PM's **cough**).
This site is a great tool for this trade and for those that work in it. I personally do not pretend to know it. That would be kinda ignorant on my part, but I can try and at least relate/understand it. But, it is also available for those of us that want to know alittle about it, to be able to find an answer.
I hope this clears up your questions. :)

Hi I'm still about too.
Although I am grateful to Tracey for setting up the Ladies Lounge, it will never be an exclusive place for ladies to chat as there seems to be no such place. Guys are just too curious to leave it alone. I will continue to post anywhere on this forum as it seems most the decent guys on here have no objection and for those that do "hard ****" (thats how they talk aint it).
I'm pretty sure we have a lot to offer with our words of wisdom as alot of men don't hear things direct from their wives and we could be their wake up call.
Seems some folk on here think that all we do is ***** and moan well guys you need to check out some of your own threads (aint naming any names). The good ole wives on here aint half as bad. What do you reckon?
Matt has job in the bag so it's just a waiting game for us at the mo and we wait to sell the house. Gonna start checking out MLS to see what we can afford.
best wishes

And I Am Not Pm Mwoody !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow - you certainly got a lot of your chest. I aint that brave unfortunately. Was gonna possibly suggest a meet-up in the near future if your interested and hope you ain't as scary in the flesh?
Do feel free to PM or email me if you want a girly private chat as there's some things that I don't particulary want the whole of the nation to view. Some things are private and of course, you never know who's having a gander at your threads (wouldn't want anyone to take things the wrong way). I'm sure us woman can get as down and dirty as the fellas on here and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to witness that :D . It seems that they too all like to visit the Ladies Lounge. Where shall we have that party - Lineman Forum, BS or Ladies Lounge?

Hi
One thing that concerns me a little is that you say your OH is more often away working leaving you feeling like a single parent. I do also know this feeling well, although at certain times when OH is really busy at work I get to see him for the odd hour or a quick hi when he creeps in and out of bed at insane hours of the night. He's not normally gone for days (although it can feel like it at times). Where does your OH normally work - do they not have teams who look after their own patch or is that not the case. What I'm trying to say is he's been told where he'll be based from but do you think he'll end up working all over BC and be away from me and the boys alot.

Thats made me feel a lot better. Thanks for that. OH will be working within District and not as he understand on construction. He knows that due to the nature of this work that some time may be spent away from home in trouble call situations. When starting a new position you can't ask for too much as i take it he will have to also prove his worth. It seems ironic that you decided to stick near your family and were doing the exact opposite. I'll have to start doing a bit of networking when we arrive so that I don't feel too isolated. Great news that your OH is coming home for good - better crack open a nice bottle of bubbly.:)
As a linehand (Male) We watch and as for me I don't normally post here. I beleive that there is some misunderstanding of LA. LA is a Spouse (Wife) of a linehand. She is also one of the moderators here on the site. YOU may not have understood her intent when SHE set up this part of the site for Women.
I will shut up now with the thought that information prior to moving mouth is important to correct understanding and communication.
