News will never support the American Worker, especially the union worker. Its simple, revenue comes froms ads- ads come from corporations. They sold their souls to bring in the ads and the commercials.
I am a committed Christian, catholic, and I want the truth. Unbiased news for people who work. I was a soldier, and I know what a grunt goes through in a foreign land. I haven't been in this war, but I wasn't far from a mortar shot that unloaded my bladder and my colon and I couldn't hear for a week. I was no hero. Never killed. Just a common soldier.
Juan Gonzales- union supporter and understands the us. Democracy Now is his program. He was blacklisted, because he was head of the strike against the New York Daily News. I watched C-Span with Phil Donahue and Juan Gonzales. He made a good point, JG, when we belong to a union we put out money for politicians. We create middleman for our goals and we will never create popular opinion for our goals. We will continue to lose our union percentages, if we don't support media that will tell our story.
The men and women fighting this war come from our population, the working population. In the 70s you couldn't be a congressman, if you didn't serve in World War 2 or Korea. Now we have no one that is capable of empathising with the soldiers.
Our representatives also very few go through an apprenticeship, where they are isolated from people who work. They go to nice prestigious high schools, then they work in the Beltway either as admistrative assistants or consultants. Then they see their openings where they come from and run for office. They usually have those degrees, law or political science. They will never know us, be us, have hard skinned hands. We believe they will be the source of our salvation, we bet our chips on them and they fail. Because they will never empathize with working people.
Look at our union membership percentages, they are dwindling to extinction. We need a common paper, AFL-CIO sponsored maybe, with real journalists and real stories, not propaganda rags from our locals or individual unions. And maybe in a few years the subscriptions will be self supporting.
Where in the news do they show the Employee Fairness Act that is coming up in congress? Do you find it in our papers?
We need our voice! Its lost!
