Did anyone else see the article originating from Montgomery Alabama about an 11 year old Jamison Stone shooting a massive wild hog reported to weigh in at a healthy 476kg which is a little over a 1000 pounds. He shot it 8 times with a .50cal revolver then chased it for 3 hours before finishing off with a head shot the picture in the paper it looks like a small rhino one thing is for sure thats one big pig!

Thanks to google

Boars arent any good to eat. I've killed quite a few,the testosterone makes the meat real grainy and gives it a pungent gamey taste. If I'am out to kill a meat pig I'll shoot a sow,but if I'am after a trophy then an old boar is what to look for.My neck of the woods is loaded with 'em,nothing that big though,250 - 300 pound pig is a lot of animal, thats pretty normal.By the looks of the pig on the news I'd say he was an old farm pig that got loose( farm pigs will revert back to the wild in a few years of living out in the woods). Wild boars have a long narrow snout to them ,,,,either way you look at it, thats a whole lot of porkchops to be chasing around the woods with a six shooter!!!

Since that would result in lowering the production of juicy little hogglets and ultimately hunting targets I would think that would be counter-productive.

Maybe the hunters cut the hog's nuts off out of jealousy since they're married and don't get sex any more.

Is that you in that last "hog" picture ES? At first I thought it was another of PA's posts due to the similar goatee and camouflage.

Here in the UK we're not allowed to play with guns. :(

I met a guy selling hand made bows and he had a bores head on his wall from back East somewhere. He told a story about the hillbilly who took him hunting cutting the nuts off of a bore and letting him go. I know there was a reason for it, but I don’t remember.

In the story that I read, the kid shot it with a 50 cal. five shot handgun.

Being a Florida boy we seen this quite often. The boars are not interested in anything other than eating after they loose their nuts. They dont fight over the sows or territory. They have a name for these hogs but I am forgetting. They get to be some big SOB's, a lot of guys that hunt with "catch dogs" will do this. That is the reason as it was explained to me. Little unethical for me, I dont kill what I wont eat, and like ES said them jokers taste pretty nasty. You can make sausage but ****, how much sausage can you eat.

And besides, teeth that big, I aint messin with their balls!
