Anybody out there now working for Buffit know anything about more people getting fired for something stupid?

Two guys here in Yakima got walked off the property over fifteen minutes dispute on time sheet on OT. Both had many many years with the company. They also let a serviceman go over a dispute of his putting down penalty pay for being told to extend his lunch hour. All of them got their jobs back but were pretty upset to be just fired after so many years of service. Now not a one of them wants to be formen because they fear reprisals. Not a good place to work we have lost a few linemen that say this is not the place to be. They have taken the exempts retirement and are wanting to take those that have been here for years. I found some information on the internet that shows what Execs are getting for retirement they should be ashamed for taking from the people who have worked in the weather and for long hours. I could get the information to you if you like...Pass it around.....Buffet gives away billions at the cost of who?

There have been quite a few here in Wy that have gotten letters and threats to be terminated, but so far the union has kept WB and his people at bay. If we lose any more I don't know who is going to keep the lights on!!!!

You will defineately see changes with the new owners. Pacific Power use to be the utility to work for here in the Northwest. Your correct about the exec retirement, they have a special package for those who they like. As far as the terminations and other discipline, some are over very small and ignorant things, some were well deserved.

I have returned to construction, I am very clear about who controls my life and it is me.

Buffets boys are hammering the two chock rule. Trying every thing to get a new rule on it. Threatening everyone, had one lineman who refused to sign the new and improved wheel chock rule ,( it is already in our APM) (not to mention there has never been an accident due to not chocking) that had 4 minor accidents in the last two years, well they called him in, wanted him to write an essey telling how he got hurt, why he got hurt, how he could prevent it, and in the future, and how to tell fellow employees how to protect themselves from getting hurt. Spend all day if needed. Two of the accidents, one was dirt in his eye, one was he slipped off a trailer and hurt his arm. Now any time he is on the property he has to wear goggles, he was told, ANY TIME! It is getting rediculous! Next it will be, write 1000 times on the black board, I have been a bad lineman, I have been a bad lineman, I have been a bad lineman! LOL!

I hope he didnt write any essays, the purpose of the essay, if the employee's injury is compensible, is to introduce what the employee wrote down at a comp hearing. If it is a comp injury, never willingly give the employer any info without talking to your comp attorney, frankly, the employer is not entitled to such discovery unless they subpeona for it. Give a simple statement of fact, thats all!
