I can't even begin to cover the changes. 57 at a stalemate with Mid America in Negotiations. If contract gets voted down who knows. You got to watch everything you do for fear of reprisal. Even managers getting pushed to do what they are told or else. This could be a very big upset for the Northwest. How do you stand aganst so much money? I believe in protecting our future but wonder what direction it will go. I hope all stand together. I know that our people are getting sick of all the changes. I just hope these suckers realize that our skill has a value, like to see them do it. Allot of people want out this place sucks everyone hates to come to work...DON'T COME TO WORK HERE YOU WILL NOT LIKE IT AT ALL.........

They are going wacko over safety because we are way more unsafe than Iowa, I guess! I don't think we are, but statistically it says we are. 127 signed a two year contract extension a few months back and the union president is personally visiting every shop and showing up at all the inquisitions when a violation is committed and the letter in the file process starts. I commend him for that.

A while back there was a little glich on the MidAmerican website or some where on the net about Sokol making a $3.4 million screw up. Not sure of the exact amount or what he did, but the gist of the article was how Warren Buffett simply told Sokol after the screw up, "We all learn from our mistakes"

He gets a simple, "I hope you learned some thing from your multi-million dollar mistake", we forget to chalk a truck with air brakes and outriggers and we get a letter in our file. Second time, days off, third, possibly fired!!!!

Did you guys get the code of conduct hand book and the sheet they wanted you to sign because no one in the union signed it. But they are starting to use in disiplan cases. MEC is run on stitistics profit margains. They talk safty because they want you to go home to your faimily after work but, it really doesn't feel like it. What they say isn't matching what they do.

Yeah we got the code of conduct and most of us signed it here in Wyoming. We take it all with a grain of salt , and shake our heads as most is a joke. But if they want us to do summersualts before we get in a truck we probably will! WHy? Because the majority of our work force is pushing 50 plus and want to get thier retirement, which I think MEC knows, and they want to prevent it becuase it will cost them a bundle in a few years.

Good news, the front and rear wheel chock does work. My truck DID NOT roll up any of the hills I parked on today.

LOL! I wondered if they would work! Especially the trucks with airbrakes! When they fail, they set up, the trucks that need chocks should be any small truck with manual transmissions and manual emergency brakes!

A 29,000# pound truck with air brakes and outriggers down, isn't to likely to roll away! Give me a break!
