Lets hear about cool and funny practical jokes and pranks you guys have pulled.
I'll start.
I was working in Miami doing a reconductor job.
I had a pretty good crew, mostly South Americans.
I had this grunt from Nicaragua named "Pancho" This guy had a driving problem, all trucks from this contractor were stick. This guy always chose the wrong gear, third for instance, and could be detected from the sweet smell of clutch from a mile away.
Nonetheless, we loved pancho 'cause of his personality. He spoke no english, but was always smiling. I would talk **** and say "Aint that right Pancho?" To which he would reply, "Das right boss" Great guy.
Well, one day we were working a brutal junction pole, one of those all dayers.With pretty much just me and a journeyman working, and the rest of the crew grunting.
I boomed back to clear the primary for a smoke. As I leaned against the side of the bucket I looked down to see Pancho running as if his life depended on it, looking over his shoulder and cussing in spanish.
Lo and behold there was Bert, my Cuban master grunt, lord of the ground, chasing Poncho with a can of cleaner lit with a lighter.
Me and the journeman were laughing our asses off, as we had never seen Pancho move so fast!!
I can tell you all sorts of misadventures involving tying a guys feet to the truck while he slept during lunch, or dropping "Ampact bombs" amung a few...
I love the memories I share with those I worked with, and hope some of you can make us all laugh....
