here is the problem . The foreman came up and asked us if we would want to work on Friday witch is o.t.and bank them hours for straingt time so we could take the whole week of 4th of . I didnt agree with that I told them i wasnt giving up my overtime for straight time he told me if I didnt then I cant work that day. justwandering if he could tell me that i cant work that day or not. I am an app on top of that. just wandering who I need to callThe local im working out of which is 84 or Selcat :mad:

Yep he can tell you that. Why not go in on a few fridays so you can get the holiday week off. Your foreman is probably the one that has let you go a little early for personal reasons, or do some personal business on company.
You have to work with your foreman not against him.
Don't mess it up for the rest of the crew, it will be hell to pay.

Why break down conditions? It all starts with the carrot on the stick, "take the whole holiday week off" then you'll be working saturdays for straight time and being told not to come in on a regular day.....

I would definately call your Union Hall. That is Bullsh?t and it doesnt make a diff if you are an apprentice or not you are a Union Dues Paying Brother. Do You have a Steward on your Job if so talk to him. I am scheduled to work 4 tens if one of the days fall on a holiday we dont make it up on Friday because then we are working on Friday for straight time which other wise wouldnt be. That is clearly stated in our union contract.

Go by your contract and you can't go wrong. If you start to make side deals in the end all it makes for is problems down the road.
